Content pillar

A core recurring theme that organises what a brand posts about.

Strategy

A content pillar is one of a handful of central themes a brand consistently creates content around — for example education, behind-the-scenes, customer stories, product, and industry commentary. Together the pillars form a simple framework that keeps output focused, varied and on-brand instead of random.

Pillars matter because they solve the two hardest problems in social: what to post, and staying coherent. They make planning fast (rotate through the pillars), give the audience a clear reason to follow, and help the algorithm understand your niche by keeping your topics consistent.

Choose three to five pillars that sit where your expertise meets your audience's interests and your business goals, assign a rough share of your calendar to each, and map every planned post to a pillar. Review which pillars actually earn engagement and rebalance toward what works.
